It's Just Like Poker: A Spiritual Guide To Playing The Cards Life Deals You

You can’t always choose the cards life deals you. But you can choose how you play them.

In It’s Just Like Poker: A Spiritual Guide to Playing the Cards Life Deals You, Dr. Constance Santego uses the wisdom of the poker table as a powerful metaphor for navigating the unpredictable game of life.

Some hands arrive filled with opportunity. Others bring loss, betrayal, uncertainty, setbacks, or circumstances we never would have chosen. Yet, just as in poker, the strongest hand doesn’t always win—and a difficult beginning doesn’t determine how your story ends.

Through spiritual insight, relatable stories, reflection prompts, and practical “Table Takeaways,” you’ll explore what it means to trust your gut, read the energy around you, manage emotional reactions, recognize signs and synchronicities, take risks, surrender control, know when to fold, and discover when life is asking you to go all in.

This isn’t a book about becoming a poker player. It’s about becoming more conscious of the player you already are.

Whether you feel as though you’ve been dealt aces or the worst hand at the table, It’s Just Like Poker reminds you that your power doesn’t come from controlling every card that falls.

It comes from how you respond.

Trust yourself. Read the table. Play with courage. And remember—the next card can change everything.
